Stephen Gould takes over the title role in Verdi’s »Otello«

The American tenor Stephen Gould, one of today’s most sought-after heroic tenors, will take over at short notice the role of Otello in Giuseppe Verdi’s opera of the same name in the Semperoper production. Stephen Gould is no stranger to Dresden, having already sung the roles of Florestan in Beethoven’s opera »Fidelio« and Tannhäuser in the Wagner opera. In addition to Otello, this season also sees Stephen Gould grace the Semperoper stage to sing the title role in Richard Wagner’s »Siegfried«. Christian Thielemann will conduct the performances of both »Otello« and »Siegfried«
