Yumiko Takeshima

Die japanische Kostümbildnerin Yumiko Takeshima begann ihre Karriere als Tänzerin. An der Miharu Ishikawa Ballet School in Japan und an der San Francisco Ballet School in den USA ausgebildet, führten Yumiko Takeshima erste Engagements u.a. an das Universal Ballet Seoul, das Alberta Ballet Calgary und Het Nationale Ballet. Von 2006 bis 2014 war Yumiko Takeshima Erste Solistin am Semperoper Ballett. Sie arbeitete mit vielen international renommierten Choreografen und war bei zahlreichen internationalen Ballettgalas und -festivals zu Gast. Yumiko Takeshima kreiert und vertreibt ihre eigene Tanzkleidungskollektion »Yumiko« und eröffnete Dance and Fitness Wear Stores in New York City und Berlin. Als Kostümbildnerin zeichnet Yumiko Takeshima für zahlreiche Choreografien von David Dawson verantwortlich und schuf das Kostümdesign für »The Second Detail« und »New Suite« von William Forsythe.
