In a dance gala as part of the Semper Essenz series, Semperoper Ballett will present wide-ranging highlights from its extensive classical and contemporary repertoire of the last 15 years as well as excerpts from special choreographies. Once again, Aaron S. Watkin’s company will show how, largely without scenery, it is able to thrill audiences with an unmatched versatility, technical skill, expression and elegance under virtually any circumstance. All that the dancers need to exercise their art are a sprung floor, some lighting and music.

In addition to selections from the work of great choreographers such as Jiří Kylián, David Dawson, William Forsythe or Hans van Manen, audiences can also look forward to new choreographies created especially for the gala as well as a pasticcio of pieces that Aaron S. Watkin has longed wished to present in Dresden. As a further highlight, new company members will make their introductions to the city’s dance aficionados. Semperoper Ballett is looking forward to seeing you!
