In her first season, Nora Schmid and her team are offering no fewer than ten premieres in music theatre at Dresden’s Großes Haus (playhouse) and Semper Zwei. The Semperoper is celebrating a special jubilee: Richard Strauss’s Intermezzo was premiered in Dresden exactly 100 years ago. Musically, the programme for the 2024/25 season runs from the Baroque era to contemporary works, encompassing a huge diversity of subject matter from enchanting fairy tales to science fiction operas.
