Before and after
We offer introductory talks and after-show discussions on our performances as well as short tours before selected performances. What's more, you can book an architectural tour with your ticket before the start of many of the performances.
You can find offers for a barrier-free opera visit under the navigation point ‘Opera without barriers’.
Introductory talks
Your personal opera guide! At these introductory talks, the dramaturges of the Semperoper Dresden divulge interesting facts about the respective opera or ballet, explain the background to the production, give insights into the score and much, much more. The talks, which are free of charge for all ticket holders, are held before performances of new productions as well as before selected returning works. In the Semperoper they begin 45 minutes before curtain-up in the cellar of the opera house, in Semper Zwei they begin 25 minutes before the performance in the foyer. We look forward to seeing you!
Please check the Calendar for introductory talks.
Introductions for children and families
Staff of our Semperoper Education department offer interactive introductions for children and families to selected productions and performances. The introductions take place in the opera cellar. Start: 45 min before curtain-up; duration: around 20 min.
Please check the Calendar for family introductions.
Short tours before the performance
We offer short 30-minute tours before selected performances in the Semperoper. A promenade through the opulent foyers and vestibules is sure to get you in the perfect mood for your visit to the opera. When purchasing tickets for a performance, tickets for the accompanying short tour can be booked via semperoper.de or the visitor service, subject to availability.
After-show discussions: Opera and Ballet
In cooperation with Opernclub e.V. and Ballettfreunde Semperoper e.V., we are offering moderated after-show discussions, in which audience members can talk about, debate and question what they have seen with our artistic team. These after-show discussions will be held either in the opera cellar or in Semper Zwei following a selected performance of (almost) every new opera or ballet production. Audience members can attend free of charge.
