Curt Allen Wilmer, born in Madrid, was trained as a stage and costume designer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. During his studies, he first worked as an assistant for various stage designers such as Filippo Sanjust, Reinhardt Heinrich and Peer Boysen. From 1987 to 1993, he worked as a freelance stage and costume designer in Germany. Between 1994 and 1998, he was set designer and technical director of the Teatro de la Abadía in Madrid, Spain. During this phase, he worked with directors such as José Luis Gómez, Gerardo Vera, Andrés Lima and Ernesto Caballero, among others. From 1998 to 2008, he took over the artistic direction of the shows department for the design company Acciona Producciones y Diseño (APD) in Seville. In 2008, he founded EstudiodeDos with architect Leticia Gañán and worked with directors such as Alfonso Zurro, Ernesto Caballero, Juan Carlos Rubio, Sergio Peris Mencheta, Joan Font, Juan Mayorga, Magüi Mira, Antonio Álamo, Yayo Cáceres, José Pascual, Ignasi Vidal, Jesús Castejón and Julio Fraga, among others. In the field of dance, he works with Johan Inger on projects for the Compañía Nacional de Danza in Spain, Basel, Dresden and Monte Carlo, with Victor Ullate, Chevi Muraday, Aterballetto in Italy, Eva Yerbabuena and with Goyo Montero in Nuremberg. In 2014, Wilmer participated in the founding of the Association of Performing Plastic Artists of Spain (aapee) and has been a member of the board ever since. He has been awarded more than twenty prizes, including: 2 Max awards, 4 ADE awards and 8 Lorca Awards.
