Christiane Marchant

Christiane Marchant has been working with David Dawson since 2005, and has been staging his productions on an international level since 2017. She is also employed as a resident ballet mistress and talent scout of the European School of Ballet in Amsterdam.   She joined Maurice Béjart’s Les Ballets du XXe Siècle in 1977 and the Hamburg Ballet in 1980, before becoming a Press Assistant in 1987. From 1993 to 2005, Christiane was a teacher and ballet mistress at Semperoper Ballett, Hamburg Ballet, Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo and MaggioDanza in Florence. In the following two years, she was contracted as first ballet mistress with the Ballet of Flanders in Antwerp. Christiane’s vast repertoire covers the classical and neoclassical works by Petipa, Balanchine, Neumeier and Forsythe as well as creations by choreographers such as David Dawson, Christopher Wheeldon, Christian Spuck and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. As a guest teacher, Christiane also worked at Stuttgart Ballet, La Scala di Milano, Wiener Staatsballett, the Royal Danish Ballet and the Royal Swedish Ballet, Ballet de Santiago de Chile and the Ballet of the Opera in Rome, among others. She also translated »Suki Schorer on Balanchine Technique« into French and Italian and Agrippina Vaganova’s »Basic Principles of Classical Ballet« into French.
