Yannick Boquín received his dance education at the Paris Opera Ballet School and the National Conservatoire of Paris. He danced as a principal dancer with the Ballet de Bonn, the Royal Ballet of Flanders, the Rome Opera Ballet and the Deutsche Oper Berlin. Over his career he has been the recipient of the 1st Prize of the Conservatoire of Paris (1981), the Gold Medal at the International Competition in Paris (1987), the Positano and Leonide Massine Award (1995) and the Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres (2021). Today, he is an International Guest Ballet Teacher and is working with many companies such asthe Royal Swedish Ballet, Houston Ballet, Béjart Ballet Lausanne, Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo, Bolshoi Theatre Moscow, Ballet du Capitole de Toulouse, Ballet Zurich, the Finnish National Ballet, the Korean National Ballet, Astana Opera, the National Company of Mexico and Staatsballett Berlin. He also teaches at ballet schools and academies such as the Centre Ecole Supérieure de Danse de Cannes Rosella Hightower summer course, Houston Ballet Academy, Académie Princesse Grace de Monte-Carlo and Royal Swedish Ballet School. In 2022 he was a teacher at the Prix de Lausanne.
