Thomas Herzog

Conductor

Since 2014, Thomas Herzog has been employed with Theater Basel, Switzerland, as a ballet conductor, collaborating closely with choreographers such as Stephan Thoss, Johan Inger, Stijn Celis, Pontus Lidberg, Jeroen Verbruggen and Richard Wherlock and conducting over a dozen of productions. The Swiss with Hungarian roots trained as a percussionist, composer and conductor. He is a regular guest at the Budapest Opera House, the orchestras in Miskolc, Szeged and Szombathely in Hungary and has been associated with the Württemberg Philharmonic Orchestra Reutlingen and the Montevideo Philharmonic Orchestra for over 15 years. He recently made his debuts with the RTVE Radio Orchestra in Madrid, the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra, the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn and the Opéra National du Rhin. Having appeared in Dresden in the 2022/23 season in the ballets »Peer Gynt«, »The Nutcracker« and »Carmen«, he returns to the Semperoper in 2023/24 for the world premiere of Johan Inger's »A Swan Lake«.
