The German soprano Stefanie Knorr initially studied music education and mathematics for teaching at the University of Freiburg. She then pursued vocal studies at the Hochschule für Musik Basel under Marcel Boone. While still a student, she made her debut in 2016 at the Theater Basel in a children's opera. Subsequently, she appeared there in roles such as the Bubikopf (Der Kaiser von Atlantis) and the Oldest Mermaid (Andersens Erzählungen). During the 2020/21 season, Stefanie Knorr was a member of the opera studio at Theater Basel. In the 2021/22 season, as a member of the ensemble, she performed roles including Papagena (Die Zauberflöte) and Minerva (Il ritorno d'Ulisse in Patria). Her guest engagements have taken her to the Semperoper Dresden, Theater Chemnitz, and the Lucerne Theatre. Stefanie Knorr is a multiple prizewinner of international competitions. Her concert repertoire spans from Baroque to contemporary music. In December 2023, she performed at the ISCM World New Music Days in South Africa.
