Austin Spangler

Austin Spangler is a dynamic multi-talented award-winning movement and action director, stunt coordinator and artist. He works in stage and screen projects, having recently returned from the USA working at Dallas Opera on three productions, »Rigoletto«, »Hänsel and Gretel« and »Das Rheingold«. In San Francisco, he collaborated with director Elkhanah Pulitzer on the ground-breaking new state-of-the-art mobile chamber opera »Birds in the Moon« partnered with the New York Philharmonic, The Broad Stage Los Angeles, and Mellon Foundation, featured in the New York and Los Angeles Times. Mr Spangler is also a recipient of a 2021/22 Arts Council England award as a developing artist.   In the past two decades, he was contracted with the Royal Opera House, Los Angeles Opera, Bregenzer Festspiele, Opera North, The Globe, and Glyndebourne Opera as a Movement and Action Director on »Nabucco«, »Tosca«, »The Ring of the Nibelung« Cycle, »Andrea Chénier«, »The Magic Flute«, »The Pearl Fishers« and »Gloriana« to name a few. Mr Spangler’s screen credits include working with the likes of Michael Gacey, Keanu Reeves, Orlando Bloom, Madonna, Daniel Brühl, Michael Winterbottom, Kate Beckinsale, Julia Michaels, The 1975, The Proclaimers and Russel Crowe, on major feature films, commercials and music videos. Winning international awards and acclaim for film projects »Embrace life« and »Carpool«, in Rome, Cannes and New York. Upcoming events include »Alice in Wonderland« in London for the world-renowned theatre company Les Enfants Terribles, with Austin Spangler working as Aerial and Fight Director, as well as a production with Royal Scottish National Ballet involving him as a stunt coordinator.
