Born in the USA, dance researcher and dramaturg Freya Vass began her career as a dancer, choreographer and dance educator and holds a PhD in dance history and theory. She is currently a lecturer and dance researcher at the University of Kent. From 2006 to 2013, she was dramaturg and production assistant for the Forsythe Company in Frankfurt and has also worked with the Salzburg Landestheater Ballet, the Corpus Ensemble of the Royal Danish Ballet and with David Dawson on his production of "Giselle" for the Semperoper Ballett.
