Alexis Oliveira
Ballet Master

Alexis Oliveira was born in Santos, Brazil. Following his dance studies in Brazil, where he obtained medals in several national competitions, and at English National Ballet School in London, he danced as a soloist at the English National Ballet, Aterballetto, Stuttgart Ballet and Les Ballets de Monte Carlo, where he was a Principal Dancer. He danced many solo and main roles in ballets by Jean-Christophe Maillot, Jiří Kylián, George Balanchine, William Forsythe, Johan Inger, John Neumeier, Peter Schaufuss, Glen Tetley, Mauro Bigonzetti, Derek Deane, and John Cranko, among others. In 2022, he was named Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters of the Principality of Monaco. Following his career as a dancer, he became a ballet master at the Staatsballett of Hannover in 2024. He has also worked as a rehearsal director for the Malta Ballet and as a guest teacher for the Ballet du Rhin and the Ballet de Genève. At the beginning of the 2025/26 season, Alexis joined the Semperoper Ballett as a ballet master.
