Thomas Jung
Conductor

Thomas Jung is working internationally as a concert conductor and has also been in great demand for dance theatre productions in recent years. In 2025 he was appointed Principal Guest Conductor of Birmingham Royal Ballet. In 2018 he was appointed Constant Lambert Conducting Fellow of the Royal Ballet at the Royal Opera House in London and has furthermore conducted for English National Ballet and Dutch National Ballet. In the concert hall, Thomas Jung has been working with orchestras such as the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, the Dresden Philharmonic, the SWR Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, the Gstaad Festival Orchestra, and the Mantua Chamber Orchestra. Thomas has been an Assistant and „Cover Conductor“ for Bernard Haitink. In 2020, Thomas Jung won second prize at the Gustav Mahler Conducting Competition, and was awarded the Eugen Jochum Prize in 2017. He studied at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne and at King’s College, Cambridge.
