Michael Breeden

Michael Breeden was born in Lexington, Kentucky, where he began training before attending the School of American Ballet in New York City. Mr Breeden joined Miami City Ballet in 2006, where he performed principal roles in the works of George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, Justin Peck, Christopher Wheeldon, Twyla Tharp, Paul Taylor, Alexei Ratmansky and Liam Scarlett. Since 2017, Michael has staged the works of Justin Peck for the Royal Danish Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, Hong Kong Ballet, Ballet Arizona, and Miami City Ballet and many others. He also co-founded the Conversations on Dance podcast with former Miami City ballerina Rebecca King Ferraro. In doing so, he has worked closely with some of America’s most important arts institutions, including The Kennedy Center, Works and Process at the Guggenheim, and the Vail Dance Festival.
