Ballett
Cynthia Harvey danced most of the ballerina roles at American Ballet Theater and was the first American dancer to become a solo ballerina at the Royal Ballet. Upon her return in 1996, she guested as a guest artist with Baryshnikov, Nureyev and other international companies. Harvey was involved in the new production of Sleeping Beauty for the Norwegian National Ballet and in 2009 she staged an acclaimed version of Gisele. Her production was added to the repertoire of the Finnish National Ballet in 2018. In 2010, she created a full-length production of Sleeping Beauty for the Hong Kong Ballet, followed in 2014 by a Don Quixote for Singapore Dance Theatre, which was named one of the best productions of the year. Prior to her appointment as artistic director of the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School of American Ballet Theatre in 2016, she was a sought-after guest teacher and répétiteur worldwide. She has served as a jury member for numerous competitions and on the board of DanceEast. In 2021, she co-founded To the Pointe, International Dance Consultants, LLP with David McAllister and Madeleine Onne. Harvey has received numerous honors for her contributions to culture, including the 2019 Cultural Award and the 2023 Artistic Award from Dance Open America. She is currently Associated Guest Repetiteur at English National Ballet.
