Born in Stuttgart. After a commercial education and occupational activities, Adi Luick studied musicology and history of art in Tübingen. During his studies, he was an apprentice in the ballet dramaturgy department and press & public relations at the Bayerisches Staatsballett in Munic and the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin. After completing his studies, he worked at the latter in the artistic management, for the ballet dramaturgy and supported tours of the opera to Paris, Madrid and Tokyo and thereafter he became the assistant to the Company Manager for ballet & Dramaturg Christiane Theobald. He joined the Semperoper Dresden in 2000 as a dramaturg for ballet and opera and then became the management assistant to Ballet Director Vladimir Derevianko. In 2006, he was appointed as Company Manager of the Semperoper Ballett under the artistic direction of Aaron S. Watkin. In the 2023/24 season, Mr. Luick will manage the Semperoper Ballett in the form of a dual leadership alongside Artistic Manager Marcelo Gomes. (Last updated: 2023)
