An institution with tradition
The Semperoper is a landmark building on the famous Theaterplatz beside the Elbe, which forms the centre of Dresden’s historic Altstadt district. The first opera house, which opened here in 1841, was designed by Gottfried Semper in late classicist, part Renaissance style.
