Aaron S. Watkin was invited to be on the jury of the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) in Tokyo, Japan – a great opportunity to interconnect in the world of dance! The YAGP is the world’s largest student ballet scholarship competition that awards over $250,000 annually in scholarships to leading dance schools worldwide. In annual competitions all over the world young dancers between 9 and 19 years of age, show their best to further their careers. Aaron has had the chance to strengthen ties with Madeleine Onne, the Director of Hong Kong Ballet, Leigh Rowles of the Australian Ballet School, Paola Cantalupo of the Ecole Supérieure de danse de Cannes among others.
We are also proud to announce that the winners of each section were all mostly interested in joining Palucca Schule – Hochschule für Tanz Dresden. Aaron S. Watkin was able to already award two dancers with apprentice positions for our company for season 2011/12. Two other dancers will get the chance of a one year scholarship at Palucca Schule and further three were awarded with 2 week scholarships at Palucca Schule. Furthermore Aaron S. Watkin has been invited to judge at the YAGP competition in New York City in spring 2011 – as well as back to Japan in summer 2011 to teach.
