We are delighted that Daniele Gatti, chief conductor of the Sächsische Staatskapelle, will be conducting two opera premieres for the first time this season: Giuseppe Verdi's Falstaff and Richard Wagner's Parsifal. You can also look forward to Georges Bizet's freedom-loving Carmen or The Florentine Hat by the celebrated musical prodigy Nino Rota, as well as returning classics and top-class cast members.
Ballet director Kinsun Chan continues to take the Semperoper Ballett on a path from classical to modern. In addition to John Cranko's Onegin or Wings and Feathers by Stephanie Lake and Akram Khan, the new season will also feature popular classics such as The Nutcracker by Aaron S. Watkin & Jason Bechey, Johan Inger's A Swan Lake or the revival of John Neumaier's Nijinsky, which was highly acclaimed in the 2024/25 season.
The detailed concert program of the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden will be published on 9 April.
