Symposium: »Art and Revolution« The Semperoper, the Schauspielhaus and Autumn 1989

In cooperation with the Dresden Historical Association e.V.

To accompany three major programme highlights, the Semperoper is organizing symposia aimed at experts as well as interested audience members.
The 30th anniversary of the peaceful revolution in Dresden is the occasion for a symposium entitled »Art and Revolution« looking back on the events of October 1989. This symposium is part of the series of events »30 Years of the Peaceful Revolution« running from 3 to 11 October 2019.
To mark the Dresden premiere of György Ligeti’s opera »Le Grand Macabre«, the »Carl Maria von Weber« College of Music, Dresden, and the Semperoper are jointly exploring the wide-ranging topic of »The Apocalypse and the Grotesque«, the title of the second symposium.
And in December we invite you to a dance symposium, the content of which will be announced at a later date.
