Spicy biscuits, glittering snowflakes and glowing candlelight – delightful as these all are, what would the pre-Christmas season be without music? Soloists from the Semperoper ensemble will celebrate the most joyous time of the year at this Semper Soirée entitled »Songs for Advent« with a selection of Christmas carols, duets and ensembles from the Baroque age to the 20th century. The audience can look forward to traditional German carols and American festive classics as well as international Christmas songs and melodies from all over the world. You are warmly invited to get into the yuletide spirit with music both contemplative and lively … and to sing along with one or two of the carols!
