The Semperoper Dresden resumes performances in front of live audiences. Online ticket sales begin for a multi-part ballet evening. Concerts, ballets and opera performances planned for June/July 2021 as well as open-air events.

Dresden, 2 June 2021. Ticket sales for the previously announced choreographic previews gathered in »A Collection of Short Stories« will begin at 10 a.m. on 3 June 2021, exclusively via the Semperoper’s online booking portal.

The Semperoper is welcoming back live audiences from mid-June 2021 with two performances of a multi-part ballet evening. In addition to Staatskapelle concerts and the ballet evenings, the replacement programme will include performances of the current production of Mozart’s »The Magic Flute«, staged by Josef E. Köpplinger, with star basses René Pape or Tilmann Rönnebeck as Sarastro. Audiences can also enjoy the presentation of the 12th Dresden Prize as well as a Semper Soiree presented by members of the Semperoper’s Young Ensemble, which, under the jaunty title »Andiamo«, will feature arias and ensembles from classic Italian operas.

A number of other events are being planned. One of the Semperoper’s summer open-air events will be the open-air premiere of Mischa Spoliansky’s cabaret revue »Wie werde ich reich und glücklich?« to be staged at the Weißer Hirsch concert venue at the beginning of July. Preparations are also underway for further performances by the Semperoper Ballett in cooperation with Dresden’s Palucca University of Dance, presented on an open-air stage at the Palucca University.

All bookings for events in the remainder of the current season must be made online. Ticket sales will be staggered for the various events and will be announced in good time (please note that the replacement programme may be subject to revision). Initially, tickets for the two ballet evenings   (12 and 13 June 2021) will be available for purchase at from 10 a.m. on Thursday, 3 June 2021.

Due to current pandemic regulations in Saxony, the number of seats for each event is limited. The Semperoper asks visitors to observe the daily updates to the current programme and ticket sales published on our website, as well as the hygiene rules that apply when visiting the opera house.
