Dresden, 9 December 2021. This weekend, the Saxon State Theatres is inviting local people to get vaccinated against Covid-19 as part of the »Vaccination Also Protects Culture« campaign. Artists from the Semperoper and the Staatskapelle Dresden are supporting this vaccination campaign with various performances.
All those wishing to be vaccinated can do so at the Semperoper on Friday, 10 December 2021, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., and at the Staatsschauspiel Dresden on Saturday, 11 December 2021, from 10.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dr Woong Rohrer-Park and his team will use the Moderna vaccine, here supplied by the Guten Tag Apotheke located in the Altmarkt Galerie. All persons wishing to take advantage of this opportunity to get a first, second or booster vaccination while enjoying a programme of culture are requested to come along with all completed forms, a health insurance card as well as vaccination booklet and identity card. The required medical history form and information sheet are available for download at semperoper.de/impfaktion and staatsschauspiel-dresden.de/home/impfaktion.
According to Peter Theiler, the artistic director of the Semperoper: »With this event, the Saxon State Theatres is affirming its strong support for the Covid-19 vaccination. We can only get back to regular performances when as many people as possible show solidarity and get vaccinated.« And Joachim Klement, the artistic director of the Staatsschauspiel Dresden, adds: »We are grateful to everyone involved in this event that we are able to offer all those members of the public willing to be vaccinated such quick and easy access to the coronavirus vaccine here with us. We hope that due to the central location of both the Semperoper and the Staatsschauspiel, we can persuade many Xmas shoppers over the coming weekend to drop by spontaneously and get protected against the virus.«
