Dresden, 12 March 2020. Cancellation of all performances, guided tours and accompanying events in the Sächsische Staatstheater – Staatsoper Dresden and Staatsschauspiel Dresden – as in the period from 12 March to 19 April 2020.
With this temporary closure of the opera house to the public, the Sächsische Staatstheater are following the guideline issued by Saxony’s Minister President and the Saxon Minister of Health on 11 March 2020 as well as the compliance order of the state capital Dresden and the recommendations of the Robert Koch Institute to prevent the further spread of the Coronavirus.
Tickets purchased from the Sächsische Staatstheater for a cancelled event will be refunded. On its homepage, the Semperoper Dresden has published information on the refunding of tickets as well as updates on the resumption of performances. The Semperoper Visitor Service is also happy to answer any queries; however, due to the large amount of extra work involved, we ask that visitors use our online service for any non-urgent enquiries.
Ticket sales for events scheduled from 20 April 2020 as well as for the upcoming 2020/21 season will continue as usual.
