Mozart’s »The Magic Flute« on 23 January 2022

Dresden, 18 January 2022. After resuming live performances, the Semperoper now offers another chance to enjoy Josef E. Köpplinger’s staging of Mozart’s »The Magic Flute«. On 23 January 2022, the curtain will rise on the current Dresden production of Mozart’s most popular work of music theatre, here with a new cast: Christina Poulitsi, performing the dazzling vocal acrobatics of the Queen of the Night, is joined on stage by Georg Zeppenfeld as the mighty Sarastro and Mauro Peter – in his Semperoper debut – in the role of Tamino. Nikola Hillebrand (Pamina), Justyna Ołów (Second Lady), Lawson Anderson (Speaker of the Temple) and Rupert Grössinger (Second Armored Man) are all making their role debuts. Also appearing for the first time in the Semperoper, the Italian Michele Gamba will conduct the Staatskapelle Dresden on the evening of 23 January.
