In the upcoming 2022/23 season, the Semperoper Dresden welcomes its international audiences to an assortment of extraordinary premieres, two »Ring cycles« with Christian Thielemann, the »Richard Strauss Days at the Semperoper« as well as the return of many popular repertoire pieces and a diverse range of special events.
In particular, the 2022/23 programme includes:
- 10 brand new productions in both opera & ballet and our Junge Szene programme, including two world premieres
- 30 returning productions in both opera & ballet and our Junge Szene programme
- »Der Ring des Nibelungen« conducted by Christian Thielemann in January/ February 2023
- »The Richard Strauss Days at the Semperoper« over the Easter holidays 2023 with conductors Christian Thielemann, Omer Meir Wellber and Jakub Hrůša
- Diverse Semper Zwei and Junge Szene programmes ranging from opera to musical – featuring two Dresden premieres as well as new events from our »Education« department
- The world premiere by Semperoper Ballett of David Dawson’s choreography »Romeo and Juliet« as well as a new three-part ballet evening »White Darkness« featuring two Dresden premieres
- Special didactic events to encourage discussion on topics related to the programme
- Premiere posters for 2022/23 with visual motifs by the conceptual artist Rosemarie Trockel
