Until the Semperoper Ballett can finally return to stage again, fans of the company can enjoy the recently published 2021 ballet calendar. The elaborately designed calendar, which is based on the ballet brochure of the 2020/21 season, is released just in time for the Christmas holidays.
Graphic Designer Bernd Hartwig, who has been responsible for the design of the Semperoper publications since 2018, created the new calendar in a pastel-colored minimalistic look inspired by the collage technique. Twelve large-format calendar pages present the unique aesthetics of Semperoper Ballett’s dancers both sensual and powerful. The individual motifs of the bodies, captured in their poses and cropped from their backgrounds, are based on the photos of ballet photographer Ian Whalen.
The Semperoper Ballett Calendar 2021 was made possible through the generous financial support of the Ballettfreunde Semperoper e.V. It is available at a price of 25 euros at the opera store in the Schinkelwache and online:
