New ensemble member: Nikola Hillebrand

Nikola Hillebrand already sang at the Semperoper in 2018 together with Jonas Kaufmann at the New Year’s Eve Concert of the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden. From the 2020/21 season, she now is a permanent member of the opera ensemble and sings the role of Konstanze in »Semper Essenz: Die Entführung aus dem Serail / The Abduction from the Seraglio« on September 11, 13 and 27.

The soprano studied at the University of Music and Theater in Munich. At the Nationaltheater Mannheim Nikola Hillebrand sang Sophie (»Der Rosenkavalier«), the Queen of the Night (»Die Zauberflöte / The Magic Flute«), Adele (»Die Fledermaus«), Despina (»Così fan tutte«), Poppea (»L’incoronazione di Poppea«) and Gilda (»Rigoletto«). Her repertoire also includes the roles of Susanna (»Le nozze di Figaro«) and Azema (»Semiramide«). Nikola Hillebrand has won the Arnold-Petersen-Preis, the Theodor-Heuss-Kulturpreis, the John-Christine-Award and the international song competition »Das Lied« in 2019.
