The Semperoper 2024/25 season is online.

Welcome to the new 2024/25 season!

Dear group customers and business partners,

yesterday afternoon, the designated artistic director of the Semperoper, Nora Schmid, presented her program for the upcoming Dresden opera and ballet season. 317 performances, including ten new opera and four new ballet productions, 27 repertoire pieces and numerous special events span the arc from the Baroque to the present day, celebrate Dresden's music and dance history, invite audiences to experience art together and give the stage space to imagination and thought.

The program ranges from the Dresden premiere of Arrigo Boito's Mefistofele with Krzysztof Bączyk in the title role and actress Martina Gedeck, among others, to Richard Strauss' work Intermezzo, which premiered in Dresden 100 years ago, to the performance of Sergei Prokofiev's ludicrous opera The Love for Three Oranges.

Under the Swiss-Canadian choreographer and designer Kinsun Chan, who takes over as ballet director, four ballet premieres await you. A must-see for all ballet fans is the premiere of the choreography Nijinsky, which premiered in Hamburg in 2000 as a tribute by ballet legend John Neumeier to the exceptional dancer Vaslav Nijinsky. With Vice Versa, the repertoire includes a new two-part ballet evening that combines Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui's 2014 creation Noetic with a work by Imre and Marne van Opstal that premiered in Dresden. The Semperoper Ballett will also be celebrating its 200th anniversary in 2025.

We cordially invite you to discover the new program online at (initially only available in German).
