Symphony and non-subscription concerts
They are the mainstay of every concert season of the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden: the symphony and non-subscription concerts in the Semper Opera. Brilliance is added by guest appearances from the world’s foremost conductors and soloists, such as Zubin Mehta, Martha Argerich, Christian Thielemann, Lang Lang or and Conductor Laureate Sir Colin Davis. The season will be opened once again by a guest orchestra: the Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra has been invited to Dresden by Fabio Luisi and the Staatskapelle. Director Christoph von Dohnányi will condcut pieces of Ligeti, Strauss and Schumann.
