The ultimate love story: Tristan has killed Isolde’s betrothed, Morold, in battle. Now King Mark, who wishes to marry Isolde, instructs Tristan to ask for her hand on his behalf and accompany the bride to her future husband. In great distress, Isolde asks her attendant Brangane to prepare a poisonous draught for both her and Tristan. By mistake, Brangane gives the couple a love potion, filling them with an irresistible passion which breaks all conventions.
