The Junges Ensemble (young ensemble) of the Semperoper Dresden was founded in May 2004 with the intention of fostering the next generation of young singers and - more recently - repetiteurs. Members are offered dedicated and individually-tailored professional training to ensure a successful start in their chosen careers. The studio programme includes:
- stage acting/performance
- vocal coaching and role studies
- lessons in diction
- lessons in Italian and German (as required)
- movement
- the chance to take part in Opera Studio projects
(e.g. in staged evening performances and concerts)
- assistance in productions of the Junge Szene
- according to suitability, assistance in small and secondary operatic roles
- understudying of minor roles in the current opera programme
Additionally for repetiteurs: role studies, assistance at rehearsals and auditions
