A desirable young woman and two rivals for her favours – a constellation that can only mean trouble. On the one hand we have the aged Dr. Bartolo, intent on marrying his ward Rosina. She, however, wishes to have nothing to do with a tyrant who closely watches her every move. The other suitor is the wealthy Count Almaviva. Disguised as a student he quickly succeeds in winning Rosina’s heart. But how can he finally get his hands on his beloved? Thanks to the cunning of his factotum, the barber Figaro, the count succeeds in his goal of getting close to Rosina. It seems as if the girl is truly his - but Dr. Bartolo is not willing to give up without a fight. The outcome of this epic struggle over a bride, and against the clock, seems uncertain.
