Allen Boxer studierte am Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. Während seines Studiums sang er verschiedene Partien wie Nick Shadow (»The Rake’s Progress«), Don Basilio (»Il barbiere di Siviglia«), Dulcamara (»L’elisir d’amore«), Golaud »Impressions de Pelléas«) und Förster (»Das schlaue Füchslein«). Collatinus (Brittens »The rape of Lucretia«) sang er beim Castleton Festival und beim Aldeburghs Britten-Pears-Programm, Masetto (»Don Giovanni«) gab er an der Opera North (New Hampshire) und Olin Blitch (»Susannah«) am Chautauqua Voice Institute. Weitere Auftritte hatte er an der Aix-en-Provence Académie Européenne de Musique und beim Festival Lyrique-en-mer (Bretagne). Seit der Spielzeit 2011 / 12 ist er Mitglied des Jungen Ensembles der Semperoper Dresden und singt hier Partien wie Zweiter Geharnischter und Erster Priester (»Die Zauberflöte«), Masetto (»Don Giovanni«), Cesare Angelotti (»Tosca«) und Albert (»La juive«).
