Tarantella Pas de Deux

Fotogallerie für Tarantella Pas de Deux - Insgesamt 3 Fotos.

Probably the best-known of all southern Italian folk dances, Tarantella provided the inspiration for Balanchine when he choreographed this pas de deux in 1964. A gem of neoclassical composition, it lends weight to the popular belief that the bite of a tarantula – from which the word »Tarantella« is allegedly derived – can cause a person to dance around in a crazed manner. An explosive dance carried along by
the rhythm of pure passion.
