Aaron S. Watkins production of »La Bayadère« – one of the greatest classical ballets of our time – is based on the traditional version of Marius Petipa. Set in ancient India, this typically romantic story tells of love, jealousy, intrigue, murder and revenge between Nikiya, a temple dancer, her rival, the Rajahs daughter Hamsatti, and Solor, a noble warrior passionately loved by both women. This passionate exotic tale also includes »The Kingdom of the Shades« – one of the most famous scenes in all of classical ballet.
